Club History

Picture

Motueka Association Football Club (Motueka AFC) was formed officially in 1925 although football matches were recorded in the early 1920’s. It is safe to say over the decades that the club has had fluctuations in player numbers at a senior level resulting in inconsistent team participation levels. Since 1963 a senior team has always been available to enter in to the Nelson competition which is now administrated by Nelson Bays Football. Junior teams also started to participate with these players eventually feeding into the senior club from as early as 1972.
