Having completed his Football Association Coaching Certificate during university Rob was fortunate to coach in America with Eastern Soccer Academy. Upon returning to the UK he started his own football club which three years later were awarded F.A. Regional prize for the “club of the year”.  He has had paid roles with the Football Association across Northern England having worked at professional clubs, centres of excellence and academies. Football has been a “big” part of his life and he has been very lucky to meet his personal legend Sir Matt Busby whilst playing for his college team, which successfully won the English School F.A. title-playing matches at Hillsborough and Maine Road! Unfortunately, as a devout Manchester United supporter he never got to play at Old Trafford but spent many seasons attending games in the Stretford End. Rob has two sons playing for Motueka AFC and struggles with the fact that his wife’s mother supports Manchester City.
